1) How was Cost Cures Corporation founded?

 

a) Dr. Kenneth Steiner, MD saw the need for patients to “know before they go” the cost of medical

 

care. Even with insurance, costs were too high causing patients to delay needed care.

 

b) He partnered with co-founder, Mary Murphy, an award-winning software executive, to recruit a

 

high performing team to bring Cost Cures, the largest searchable database for self-pay cash

 

pricing in the healthcare industry today with over . Self-pay pricing is typically 40 – 70% below

 

insurance pricing for the same procedures by the same providers.

 

2) What is the company’s mission? Quality up, Prices down.

 

a) Cost Cures’ mission is to improve healthcare price transparency and cost by allowing patients to

 

search for self-pay cash pricing from high quality physicians, laboratories, imaging centers,

 

hospitals, and other healthcare providers throughout the country.

 

3) Where is Cost Cures located?

 

a) We are headquartered in New Hampshire due to the state’s favorable tax and regulatory

 

environment, but also have employees in Florida and North Carolina.

 

4) What is Cost Cures’ product/service?

 

a) Cost Cures has developed an AI-assisted searchable database containing self-pay cash pricing for

 

common medical procedures available from high quality doctors, imaging centers, walk-in

 

clinics, and other health care providers from throughout the United States. For example, only

 

imaging centers with radiologists certified by the American College of Radiology will be included

 

in our database. Pricing availability will be phased in starting in Florida, Texas, and Georgia

 

where we will be conducting pilots with our client companies and associations. Once we

 

complete these pilots, we will make pricing generally available throughout the United States.

 

5) How can I use Cost Cures’ search?

 

a) Healthcare providers and patients must be registered with Cost Cures to use the service.

 

Healthcare providers can sign up online or call our Medical Concierge service to enroll and

 

provide their self-pay cash pricing. Patients can sign up online or call our Medical Concierge

 

service once their employer, HSA account custodian, or association enrolls and makes their

 

annual subscription payment.

 

6) What does it cost to use the service?

 

a) Doctors and other providers pay nothing to list their self-pay cash pricing and are responsible

 

for maintaining price accuracy. The service is free to patients who are affiliated with Cost

 

Cures’ Clients which include employers, financial services companies acting as custodians of

 

Health Savings Accounts, or membership associations. Cost Cures Clients pay a minor

 

subscription fee on behalf of their employees/account holders/members. Individuals who are

 

not affiliated with our Clients may be allowed to opt-in to a subscription in the future, however

 

this is not available in our Phase I offer, but will be available soon. Please be sure to register

 

with us so we can notify you when this individual subscription is available.

 

 

7) Where is Cost Cures’ service available?

 

a) Phase I will provide hospital self-pay cash prices nationwide and independent providers in

 

Florida, Texas and Georgia where we are conducting pilots.

 

b) Phase II will provide nationwide independent provider self-pay cash pricing and will expand the

 

type of healthcare available through the search engine (e.g. vision, dental, prescription drugs,

 

etc.)

 

8) Will all hospitals’ and health care providers’ self- pay cash pricing be available through Cost Cures?

 

a) No. Cost Cures only partners with high quality doctors, imaging centers, and other healthcare

 

providers throughout the country willing to accept self-pay cash payments from patients. These

Partners must meet our quality criteria to have their pricing included in our database.
